George is one of 10 Americans to win a stage of the Tour de France, with a victory in stage 15 in 2005. As a member of the Discovery Channel Team at the 2007 Tour de France in which Spain's Alberto Contador won the overall title, Hincapie supported his eighth Tour de France champion - the most of any rider in history.
